Five blond men were crowded around a small lunch table, each trying to enjoy their meal. For all but one of them, however, this was next to impossible. Why was that?

Well, it was simply because Mathias had seen another girl.

Every week he seemed to have a new woman to obsess over, and then the next week, he would be swooning over yet another. It had been going on for nearly three years already, and showed no signs of coming to an end. In all of that time, he was still yet to have actually talked to any of the girls he drooled over. "She's so beautiful, and she seems really nice!" he exclaimed, his voice carrying a sickeningly dreamy tone to it.

Damn, he was desperate. That's all the other four could say. Some of the girls he told them about actually turned out to be quite unattractive (some physically and some personality-wise), but this time, he seemed very fixed on the fact that she was absolutely gorgeous... then again, they realized, wasn't he that way every time? "Could you shut up already? I'm trying to eat," Lukas grunted, giving him a bitter glare before turning back to his lunch tray.

"You can still eat when I talk!" the Danish man replied loudly, "It really isn't too hard to do if you try!"

"That isn't what I meant, you moron."

"I'm not a moron! I know more about calories than you do!" Mathias retorted, "After all, you sit around eating butter all day long, like it's some sort of candy! I'm not even sure how you do that, but you'll be fat if you keep it up!"

       "I will not."

       "Will too!"

"Will not. What do you even know about weight gain?"

       "I know everything about weight!"

"Shut up, you two!" Emil broke in suddenly, clenching his fists. "I'm trying to focus on eating too, and you're not helping!"

"Yeah, Lukas!" Mathias exclaimed, crossing his arms and staring at the agitated Norwegian. "Stop arguing with me so Emil can eat in peace!"

"God, I ought to strangle you with my bare hands-"

"I said stop it!" Emil snapped, "You're making people stare at us!"

Mathias gazed around, finding that a fairly large number of people had indeed turned their heads in the direction of the five blonds. "What does it matter, Emil?" he asked, "Attention isn't always a bad thing!"

"In this case it is!" Emil retorted, his face flushed red with agitation. "I hate it when people stare at me, and you being stupid is making people stare!"

Mathias huffed. "I can't believe that you don't appreciate me being in love!" he exclaimed, crossing his arms and pouting at the two brothers.

Frankly, this did nothing for Mathias whatsoever. Instead, it just made Lukas even more annoyed- and when Lukas is annoyed, most people know to steer clear. The poor Danish man, however, was so oblivious to the poor choices he was making that he just kept on talking. "Great! Now that you're quiet, can I say more?" he asked eagerly, glancing toward the others at the table.

"I'm going to go put up my tray," Lukas grunted, standing up and briskly walking away.

Emil gazed after his brother for a moment before adding, "I've got to put mine up, too."

Soon, the Icelander had vanished from sight in the direction of the tray return area after his older sibling, leaving Mathias, Berwald, and Tino alone together at the table. "What is the girl's name this time?" Tino questioned as nicely as he could, despite being just as indifferent towards the situation as his comrades.

"_________!" Mathias replied with a grin, his blue eyes practically sparkling at the mention of her name.

Tino gave him a long, suspicious stare after that- which seemed to catch Mathias thoroughly off guard. "What?" the spiky-haired Dane asked, staring right back at the Finnish man.

"You do know that _________ is very shy and quiet, right?" Tino said to Mathias, actually appearing to be concerned with the situation now. "If you approach her too… loudly… she'll probably get nervous and try to walk away."

Mathias had to sit there and think about what Tino had just said for a long time before he realized what that meant. "Wait, so I have to be quiet when I first talk to her?" he repeated, feeling pressure building on him to make an okay first impression.

Tino nodded slightly. "You can try talking to her, but also keep in mind that she's good friends with Lukas," Tino warned the Dane. "Which means that Lukas might not want you trying to get close to her. After all, she's the only female friend he has!"

"Ahh, he'll be fine!" Mathias exclaimed, brushing off the idea that what he was about to do could further agitate his already-annoyed Norwegian companion. "It's not like he'd really care, you know."

Tino gave him a sort of 'I don't know about that,' glance, which Mathias chose to completely ignore. Instead, he was surprised to see the object of his affections walk into the lunchroom. You were walking in together with a couple of your other friends- Arthur and your only talkative friend, Alfred. "Now's my chance!" Mathias gasped under his breath, watching as Arthur and Alfred proceeded to go get their lunches while you sat down at an empty table with your lunch bag.

Fixing his hair and straightening his tie a bit, Mathias prepared to approach you. He repeatedly mumbled phrases of reassurance to himself, trying his hardest to stay composed. Honestly, he was terrified. He was terrified that you wouldn't like him- or worse, that you'd actually hate him, or want him to leave you alone. Finally, he mustered up all his courage and strode over to the table.

You were unzipping your packed lunch, waiting for Arthur and Alfred to come out with their food, when you heard the sound of footsteps approaching. Glancing up, you were met with a face you hadn't really seen before. Maybe once in passing, you'd say- perhaps he was a friend of Lukas? That's right! Mathias was his name, yes? As you recalled Lukas pointing him out to you, it became clear. His name was indeed Mathias. "Hi, I'm Mathias," he said; something about his voice seemed different from when Lukas "introduced" him to you.

He had been significantly louder before- almost intimidatingly so. "Oh, hi there Mathias. Nice to meet you," you replied in a simple, friendly voice, shrugging off the odd personality change.  "I'm _________. What brings you to our table?"

"Ah, I guess I just wanted to say hello!" Mathias replied, rubbing the back of his neck and grinning nervously.

At once, one thing struck you: he was cute, and in more ways than one. Not only was he physically attractive, but he was also unbelievably nervous! In truth, he was adorable. He looked as though he could hold off most men in a fistfight, and yet here he was, sweaty-palmed and trembling slightly as he was trying to talk to you- just some typical girl. "That's nice of you to do!" you told him with a smile. "My friends Arthur and Alfred should be over here soon, so then we'll have a bit more company!"

"That'll be nice!" he laughed, glancing over toward the lunch line. "Oh! And speaking of friends, a guy by the name of Tino told me you're friends with Lukas! We've known each other for a long time! Ever since we were really young, actually!"

"Oh, that's right! He pointed you out to me once, but I never got to talk to you," you exclaimed, "He said you were obnoxious, but I've got to disagree with him on that. You actually seem pretty nice!"

"Classic Lukas," Mathias sighed, rolling his eyes jokingly. "He's always telling me that I'm annoying, even if I'm just messing with him a bit! I don't get it at all!"

Suddenly, there appeared Arthur and Alfred from the lunch line, and you waved them over. Mathias then spotted Tino frantically trying to get his attention, pointing toward the door. It was time for him to go. "I've got to go now, but it's been really great talking to you!" the Dane said, standing up and pushing in his chair.

"Oh, well tomorrow I get to lunch a little earlier," you told him, standing up as well. "I'd be happy to have you sit with us, if you're okay with that!"

"Yeah!" Mathias replied, feeling an explosion of relief and excitement in his chest. "See you then!"

       "Well, see you then!"
A certain spiky-haired Dane has his eyes on the lovely ________, but hasn't ever talked to her before! After arguing with several of his fellow Nordics, he nervously decides to approach her. Will he be able to keep his cool, or will he screw up?
